big noisy and slow

CONS:
generates a lot of heat (not energy efficient despite the energy star label)

very noisy even when idling (only quiets down when it goes into power save mode)

slow warm up (once it is ready it prints fast but it takes a long time to warm up and by the time it does, brother's laser printer has already dished out the same job elsewhere in the office due to no warm up phase and simpler user interface)

does not save settings despite the message "saving settings..."

unable to save scans on our domain server due to lack of security compatibility settings(technical support says that this is a "product limitation" and thus will not honor warranty for this issue), must save on local workstation then copied over...(thus does not meet my definition of a network printer/scanner)

must use high resolution for images to be copied legibly (slower than other copiers that copies legibly without high res setting)

bulky footprint (takes up a lot of desk space)

high yield toner does not last 6000 pages nor does low yield lasts 3000 pages (it will still print but only part of the paper is legible)

more expensive than brother (initial unit costs more, cost per page is more, more time spent trouble shooting, more time wasted by technical support, more down time during warranty replacement)

poor technical support (waste of time)

PROS:
prints duplex

compatible with 64-bit OS and 32-bit OS, xp, windows7, vista, etc.

handles large workloads well

no addition drum unit to replace, simply replace the entire machine when it is time

Great printer in theory, but too many internal issues.

The specs are great and we got it for a reasonable price originally (in 2008). It performed perfectly for about the first 8-9 months. Luckily we had an extra long warranty for what was to come. After those 9 months, we changed the printer approximately 5 times, that is not an exaggeration. Every single time we got a new printer, within 4 months we had to change it again for a new one through the warranty. Issues included jamming of envelopes, large black splotches on pages printed, unreadable print quality, jamming of paper, bad connectivity with computer... We did not abuse the printer or do anything to cause these issues. It was used normally in a small business. Our warranty has finally run out and we have just put up with the last issue of the "printing" dialogue not disappearing from the printer even after it has finished printing a job (we have to press cancel every time on the printer in order to begin the next job).

I agree with the positive reviews in saying that it is a great printer, but after long term use, I personally have had a terrible experience. Dell has been great with the warranty and has replaced it many times, but of course this is extremely annoying. Maybe you will get lucky and not have as many issues!

Dell Quit Working too soon

Have had my Dell 2335dn for a little over two years. OK until recently when I started have frequent paper jams. Called Dell and at first the lady said they would send me a replacement. Then, she called back and left a short message on our answering machine that our product was out of warranty. Well, I knew that and never expected them to replace it but certainly was willing for them to do that when the lady said she was going to. So, I called back to see if someone could tell me how to stop the paper jams and the second lady said the best thing I could do was buy a new machine. I can assure Dell that I will not be buying a new Dell copier. Two years is not long enough for a machine to last.

Makes Fabulous Photos, Greeting Cards & Calendars

After getting the Canon i960 printer, I had to try this paper. One it was cheap. And two, the diverse reviews here intrigued me to no end. After making a few prints on this paper, I began to think I knew why the paper was so cheap...it was THAT bad!

Then, when I came to do a review, I fortunately read the one that cautioned printing on the right side of the paper. There was a right side? I then read the directions with the paper--there is indeed a right side, and it is whiter than the back. It will be hard for some to tell the difference. But the difference from printing on the right side and the wrong side is truly astounding! I'm a big glossy paper fan, but there is a nice look to this matte paper. And it is MUCH cheaper than the Photo Paper Pro. It is also much cheaper than buying greeting card paper.

But be aware, the money you save not buying more expensive photo paper will be going to buying more ink. Compared to glossy paper, this paper drinks ink. I've been making calendars with it, and was shocked to see the way the ink was consumed. Yet, I can't see making calendars with any paper than this. It makes beautiful calendars! I print a borderless 8x10 photo, using my Canon photo software on the bright white side, and a calendar page, using my calendar software, on the opposite side. The pages bind very easily with a 1/4 inch plastic binding comb. And as I said, it makes a strikingly beautiful photo calendar.

Thus, if you have only one type of Canon paper on hand, I would have this one. But if you can't give up the glossy look for photos, it won't work for you. Personally, I prefer using Kodak paper when making glossy prints on my Canon. And Kodak has a satin finished paper, but there is the Kodak name all over the back. One of the great things about this Canon paper is you can print on both sides. But do make certain you know the front from the back, before printing a photo.

Most Highly Recommended & Best Value for Canon Paper

I have a Canon PowerShot G3 and a Canon S900 printer. I've tried all of the Canon papers, and they all produce excellent output. I had been using mostly the Photo Paper Pro, assuming that the most expensive paper produced the best output. However, my testing shows that for most photos, I actually prefer the output of this Matte Photo Paper. I found that the color of most objects and people looks more natural with the matte paper. Best of all, this paper is less than 25% the cost of the Photo Paper Pro on a per sheet basis. If you're using one of the Canon photo printers, you definitely need to try this paper out. I think you'll find the output excellent and the value outstanding.

Stunning photos with this Matte Paper

I recently purchased a new canon printer and knew I wanted to order some paper along with the purchace of the printer. I love matte finish and had always selected this for my film photos. I ordered this paper with some trepidation because of the one reviewer that thought this paper was such poor quality. There have been some who have said it is difficult to tell which side of the paper to use, and this is true. There is no "Canon" written across the back of this paper. If you do select the 'wrong' side of the paper and didn't realize it, anyone would be dissapointed and I do hope the one reviewer will return here and try the other side of her paper. To use the right side of the paper, hold two pieces of the paper up to each other. The right side to print on is the brighter white and has a very lightly textured surface. The wrong side of the paper is more yellowish and is very smooth. When printing on the right side of the paper the photos come out absolutely stunning. My printer came with samples of the photo paper pro (glossy) which is probably quite nice if you are a glossy paper person. It wasn't until I could see my photos printed on this 4 x 6 matte paper that I could really appreciate the quality of my printer. If you are a lover of Matte finish, you will love this paper. It lets the photo grab the attention rather than the shiny finish.

Works just as good!

I purchase this ink thinking this is not HP ink and it is not going to work as well but when I got it in and loaded it in my printer and printed out birthday invitations in color, they came out just as good as HP only they cost way less. I will certainly buy from this seller again. Good product, great price and fast shipping!

Goood value but has it's limitations

For what your getting the price can not be beat. Shipped quickly and everything was correct in the order. Here are my only complaints.
1. Some of the color cartridges were empty from the get go and had to be returned(2 total)
2. It seems, at least on my printer, that even after installing fresh cartridges some don't show they are 100% full. In fact none of them showed 100% full but more like 75% to 85% full. This might be the printer but I didn't have the problem with HP inks.
3. The black cartridges get a warning that they are expired when i start a print process. All i have to do to print is hit okay but it's still annoying.

As far a print quality i can't see a difference between these cartridges and the more expensive HP cartridges. I'd probably buy again.

Good cost savings buy for the money.

I bought these cartridges hoping they would work with my printer and I have not been disappointed. As a teacher, I am spending the summer printing my own reading series for my classroom. This takes a lot of ink and I was paying a fortune for the brand name cartridges. So far I have not had any problems with either their use or the print quality. The quality of the printing is as good as the name brand. I plan on buying more.

Great tape - peels easily

I use this with my Epson LabelWorks LW-300 Label Maker (C51CB69010). It is a very nice black on white tape. The backing peels very easily. The tape itself seems to be pretty waterproof. I have used it to put my name on plastic waterbottles, and the tape stays on even after I put the bottles through the dishwasher. This would probably also work well for people who leave their kids in daycare and have to put their name on bottles, tupperware, etc.

The tapes also peel off of must hard surfaces without leaving any residue. I have some file cabinets that I use these on and I can easily pick off the labels (after many months) without leaving any marks whatsoever.

30 feet is a nice length - much better than the 9 foot starter cartridge that came with the Label Maker.

Work as Advertised

This product works as advertised. It makes nice labels, and the back is easy to peal. I just don't feel like the price represents a very good value. That is a big price for something not much more than a role of tape. I am sure they charge what the market will bare, but I am not satisfied with the value I am receiving.

Great Ink, but don't trust Amazon's printer compatibility test

I used to hate buying printer ink, but Amazon makes it so easy and inexpensive. It should be noted that Amazon's printer compatibility test is not correct. I have an Epson Workforce 320 and this is the ink that Epson recommends for my printer. According to Amazon, this ink is not compatible with my printer. Don't take Amazon's word for it. Check your manufacturer's website.

Not sure this is 100% legit

These come without any retail packaging and certainly in any case they are not sold the way that Epson sells them. Epson's retail package is a box with an expiration date and inside their are individually wrapped four cartridges. (if I recall correctly, all of these are then shrinkwrapped together in an outer wrapper). In contrast, this shipment arrived in a plastic bag with a single shrinkwrapped wrapper containing four cartridges that were themselves unwrapped (no individual shrinkwrapping on each cartridge).

We'll see...but when nearly 1/4 of the reviews are complaints about how one or more of the cartridges was non functional, then I have to believe there is an issue, because Epson product quality is far better than that.

Someone suggested that these could be refurbs/refills. Its certainly a possibility - but one I wouldn't really know how to rule out. I am not sure how else to account for the fact that they are not in original packaging.

It would be nice to hear the explanation from the seller and see if it makes any sense. Otherwise, I'm dubious on what these even really are.

Save a couple of bucks it's great!

I ordered it and was worried it would not be of good quality when it arrived. It arrived undamaged and I have had no issues. On top of that it arrived within a couple after I ordered it. I would highly recommended this. I saved about 15 dollars by not having to purchase directly from Epson. Will order again in future as long as price does not go up.

Not Compatible With Dell

Even though the title says these are "Compatible" with the Dell V715w printer, DO NOT install them in your printer. They will leak all over your printer and ruin the print head. Take my word for it, because I bought several of them at one time, and 3 out of 8 did leak all over my printer, and I did not try the rest! Would have been a lot cheaper in the long run to have bought OEM cartridges.

This is the way to buy ink!

I bought these cartridges because I really didn't see the value in purchasing OEM ink at 3-4 times the price. I was not disappointed. I can't tell the difference in printouts using OEM ink vs LD, and the LD cartridges do appear to contain a bit more ink than the OEM cartridges.

I have made several orders for this product. I did have an issue with one order where my printer did not properly recognize two of the black cartridges I purchased. I contacted their toll-free customer support. They helped me diagnose the issue, and immediately issued replacement cartridges at no charge or inconvenience to me. They even included a pre-paid mailer to return the defective product. This company provides some of the best better customer service I have ever seen. I would recommend them to anyone.

To be totally fair, I was convinced that the printer was more at fault for the issue than the cartridge, but they replaced them anyway.

Garbage

If I could rate a -5 stars, I would. These are nowhere near OEM. They leak terribly! They leaked so bad that it ruined my printhead. When I contacted the company they only offered a refund of the cost of the cartridge. Don't waste your time or money!

Expired Ink; Not XL

I'm torn. It is ink. It is cheap. And it arrived quickly.

However...it is expired ink, which sends HP printers (at least my OfficeJet Pro L7680) in to a hyperventilating tizzy every time I want to print. It takes me 4-5 menu-navigating button pushes every time I print, during which the printer repeatedly protests that my override is voiding any HP warranty. Nice touch, HP. Once I get through that, though, the print quality is fine.

Additionally, instead of 1 88XL, I received 2 regular-sized 88 cartridges. Not the end of the world. But not as advertised.

So...overall...it's ink. It's cheap. It works...sort of. But it is a big pain in the backside to use.

Amazon falls down on the job

Usually we can depend on Amazon to only market and promote honesty and be a reliable seller of product...However, in this case they have fallen down on the job, selling non 88xl cartridges as xl's or, in one case, substituting two regular 88's for one 88xl. I am sorely disappointed.

Unfinished product with incorrect description

Laser printers have come down in price and toner cost enough to justify buying one for our home office. I've had high hopes for this new model because we use and like a number of Samsung products already: SL-M3370FD appeared to be affordable, very fast, well-networked, Linux and Mac friendly and last but not least, power- and money-saving printer. I've printed the return labels already...

First things first, here's what's wrong with the description:

1. It's *not* wireless; SL-M3370FD doesn't have a wifi module, only the models ending in "FW" do but of course I didn't know that until after I started setting it up; in the end I've just connected it to a router with a spare CAT5 cable;
2. There's no duplex scanning or faxing, only printing.

Here's what's wrong with hardware:

3. Manual feed didn't work, I got a paper jam every time I tried feeding a letter sheet; not even experimenting with envelopes;
4. Got a "toner cartridge error" message out of the blue once, had to use the power switch in the back to reboot the printer.

We have only Linux and Mac computers so none of the below was tried on Windows. With that out of the way, here's what's wrong with the software:

5. Samsung Easy Printer Manager on Mac OS X 10.7.5 doesn't work, acts like it can't connect to the printer; I haven't tried direct USB connection; silver lining here is that apparently printing and scanning works fine without Easy Printer Manager, and one can manage the printer remotely from its built-in Web site;
6. Despite a successful SMTP server test I never received a Scan to Email job, not even in my spam folder;
7. Bonjour/Airprint/mDNS stopped working for some reason; I've set up the printer on one Mac without any issues but a couple of days later it wouldn't show up in the list on another Mac -- this may also be a problem with my router of course;

I tried to contact support by live chat on Samsung site as well as by email. Live chat representative said this is a business printer and I better talk to business support people but on the phone only, they cannot be contacted by email or live chat. I then proceeded to find a business support email and send them a note (it was late so I decided against calling). They replied within 24 hours but I found the response unhelpful. Anyway, here's what's wrong with support:

There's no support page for this model with downloads etc., click Support at http://www.samsung.com/us/computer/printers/SL-M3370FD/XAA and you get Page Not Found; that live chat however gave me an idea so I looked up this model on business site (http://www.samsung.com/us/business/printers/all-printers/SL-M3370FD/XAA) and that one does link to a support page: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/SL-M3370FD/XAA;
9. Business support representative suggested I download and install Samsung printer drivers from Apple site (not Samsung) and even offered a KB link but I tried and this didn't revive Easy Printer Manager.

Is there anything good about it? Yes: print speed is amazingly fast.

I've already placed an order for Canon Laser imageCLASS MF4890dw Wireless Monochrome Printer with Scanner, Copier and Fax, really hope that one is better.

Really fast printer with large paper capacity and excellent monochrome quality. Does not take a long time for warmup. I have it connected via LAN and it supports both cloud print and iOS printing . With Google cloud can send print from pretty much anywhere. The other reviews does not do justice to the product. For the price I got at amazon it was almost the same as the replacement cost of the toner. Excellent value for the money.

I researched this product (new models from Samsung released around Apr-Jun 2013) and compared with several other comparable products and you cant get anything close in features and quality vs the price at Amazon (got mine at $121).

Giving it 4 stars for lack of WiFi.

I hate this product!

Since I purchased my Epson printer in January 2013, I have had to replace this black toner cartridge four times and I have not printed more than 300 B & W pages. I notice that the new cartridges do not weigh more than the empty ones and now feel that Epson is distributing almost empty cartridges. The last black cartridge showed that it was full until I printed out a couple of test pages. The ink capacity then indicated that I had used up one quarter of the cartridge. I am now investigating using compatible toner from other manufacturers which could not be worst that the crap that Epson is putting out. In addition, this problem exists with the other colors needed to operate my printer. Even if I don't use my printer in a few days, the ink seems to evaporate. I know printer companies sell their printers cheap and get the customers back with the price of the ink, but my printer was not cheap. I can only print out four or five photos before I get replace toner alerts, and the quality of color photos are muddy and awful. I picked my Epson printer because it had scanner/copy/fax capability, but realize that my simple HP printer and ink gives higher quality printing as compared to Epson. Stay clear of Epson printers.

I followed the instructions for shaking and installing exactly, but the cartridge isn't printing good blacks and there is significant horizontal banding. So, no, this isn't great from what I can tell.

FANTASTIC

This is a super printer stand, well worth the money. Very substantial. Don't waste your money on those cheap plastic stands. I purchased one of the cheap plastic stands and ended up throwing it away it kept falling apart when I'd try to stand it up. I ordered this one. THIS is the one that will give you the best value for your money. It is metal and screws together - very sturdy. Fits very nicely under my desk with lots of clearance and the shelf underneath is large enough to hold two reams of paper stacked on top of each other...probably can get 4 if you stack two side by side, that's how wide and deep this stand is.

Great printer, just a few unknown restrictions

I really have nothing bad to say about this printer. It's fast, it works well, it handles a lot of paper. The only problems I've had relate to restrictions on paper handling that I didn't know about. For instance, the envelope feeder isn't a tray - it takes the place (more or less) of the manual input tray. Also, you can only attach a single 1500-page input tray to this printer - it can't handle more than one. Finally, HP ePrint only accepts PDF's up to 5 MB. Most of what I receive and need to print quickly is over that, so it's a bit of a pointless option for me (and it's an unnecessary restriction).

Overall I'm still very happy with the printer, just doesn't quite reach 5 star's.

You get what you pay for ... and then some.

Although with trepidation, I did order two of these. Initially, I found almost no difference. I told many friends and colleagues that this was a GREAT way to save money.

However, the cartridge ran out of toner having printed only about a third as many pages as indicated.

Overall, the quality is completely acceptable. The cartridges worked in my HP just fine (and I do a lot of printing!!!)...

For the price, it's still a very good deal but my experience is that this is not "high yield' as I had found with other manufacturers, primarily Quill ... But ... I can purchase seven of these for one of the 'better' and I think, overall, this may still come out ahead.

I tried one of these to avoid the outrageous prices for the HP brand toner cartridges. Not the speediest delivery but it installed easily and worked perfectly from the start. A comparison with the old, original HP cartridge showed them to be twins, as far as I could tell.

Great Printer for an Exceptional Price, Grade A Delivery.

I bought this printer after MUCH research into the options. My purpose was to provide a replacement for my SamsunG CLP-600N that had served me faithfully for 6 YEARS. I hope this model is as reliable. I'll post back if I experience any issues.

So far, the promised quality of color, clarity and usefulness for true photographic prints aren't hype, this little printer delivers. Go Dell. I would have thought your days were numbered. It is super unfortunate it is made in China. That's my only draw-back for this little guy. Otherwise, he's perfect.

I ordered ink cartridges for a H P C5180. They would not work because the printer would not recognize them. It continued to ask for certain color cartridge after I inserted one. I had to get a H P cartridge and it immediately recognized it. I returned the ones I ordered.

damaged desk, destroyed printer

I have an hp photosmart 3310 that has worked beautifully for years. Until I read good reviews on Amazon and was lulled into a false sense of cheap-ink security.
First I got the ink system failure, I thought I found a workaround by doing an intricate reset. After the third try it seemed to be ready to print a test page. Big mistake. Actually, the mistake was purchasing and installing in the first place. I opened the printer and I saw exactly what I was hoping not to. Ink all over the inside of my printer.
Next, I pick up my printer to move to a location with better light and I have a puddle of ink under the printer.
Now, here is where it gets interesting... I wiped the ink of the top of my very nice, solid wood desk... the ink ate a hole in the finish of my desk and re-stained the wood black. Now I'm pissed. A defective product is one thing but when you are destroying everything it comes in contact with, it's a whole new ballgame. I am pissed at Blake Printing Supply about the ink, but I think I am more upset that it continues to be fulfilled by Amazon. I always considered that as a sign of trustworthiness. Amazon does have incredible customer service and I received a refund and a credit. Not enough to buy a new printer or fix my desk, but it's something.
The bigger picture is now I don't trust 'fulfilled by amazon' anymore to be a sign of a quality product anymore.
I think I will stick with major brands and books from now on.
I was hoping I could post a picture of my desk and printer on here but I cannot see a way to do it.

I was a little bit leery about buying generic ink cartridges, but these got great reviews so I tried them. I'm glad I did, because so far they work just beautifully. I've installed a black and a light blue refill and both have worked perfectly in my HP C7280. Couldn't ask for better performance!

No duplex, starter toner

Decent graphics even if slow, but no real duplex printing, makes this a non purchase. Why would you buy a color laser that you have to turn the paper over and feed it in again to get duplex. Won't be doing any two-sided work with this guy. Oh yeah and if you plan on printing volume, they only give you starter toner so add another $400 to the purchase price after your first 500 copies.

Very nice printer

This printer replaced an HP all-in-one injet printer and a Dell color laser printer. We selected this printer because we wanted an all-in-one laser printer that could also print envelops (for our business). As far as I could find, this may be the only color laser printer that has an external feeder that can take more then one envelop. The printer also includes a AirPrint support. What is AirPrint? It is a wireless print capability for cell phones. We did not know about this technology until we hooked up the printer. The printer integrated seamlessly with the iPhones and is a great feature.

The printer prints well and pretty fast, it is not quite as fast as the Dell (2150). The touchscreen works well and is intuitive.

Awesome printer

I bought this previously for my office and then retired. I had to have one. I did not have to install any software other than what was automatically installed from plug and play. I can even print documents and photos from my I phone and am using it with my Windows 8 laptop. Great printer, fax, scanner.

Not exactly as it appears

The invoice reads that this is a new product and lists the HP part number indicating that it is a genuine HP part. Although so far (20 minutes), the product appears to work properly, it does not have any indication of being a genuine HP part -- no box label, nor labels on the actual part. The image shown as of 11/1/11 is misleading as it shows HP packaging.
Also... the instructions were correct mostly but the part on resetting the maintenance counter is incorrect. After looking it up on another website, I discovered that the Check button must be held down when the memory check begins and not when the printer is turned on as the instructions stated.

Terrible, terrible product - for me at least.

I have been using Avery products for 8 years with nothing but great things to say about them, and particularly liked the old style 5660 labels, but these new "easy peel" ones have been an absolute nightmare. My office laser printer (a brand spankin new Kyocera 400ci) jams every single time I try to print on them. As a laser printer (which these labels are advertised for), it has a drum that heats up in order to print. Not a problem with the old labels, but the east peels literally shrink and melt from the mild heat, pulling the plastic from the paper and causing the 3 columns to separate. In the machine.

At $49 a box, I would suggest anyone planning on using them at least test a sheet on their printer, because if your's is anything like mine you're going to be frustrated, angry, and out $49.

Great Labels

I purchased these labels for wedding invitations. I'm always concerned that labels will peel off and get stuck in the printer from bending back and forth. These labels experienced no such problems.

I like that the finish is frosted (not shiny), since it blends in nicely with the envelope. Will be buying some of the smaller Avery labels for wedding name cards - hopefully they work as well.

You must try the new and improved ones

They have a sticker on the packages saying the colors are brighter and they won't crack. I tried those first and they are beautiful. I bought some more, but they didn't have the sticker on them. Those must be what everyone here is reviewing. The old ones are indeed waxy with okay colors. I hope they don't peel like everyone says. But those improved ones are wonderful - brilliant colors and nice feel, not waxy at all. Trust me, there is a difference. I haven't washed the new improved ones yet, but they do look like they are durable and will withstand the wash. Wish there was a way to tell if the package we are getting from Amazon is new or old. I think the stock number is the same.

UPDATE: It has been an entire year since I've done some thirty or so transfers using various brands. Those new and improved Avery transfers are the best. One year later, through repeated washings, the new and improved ones still look bright and beautiful. The others are old and faded. Look carefully on the package. If they are new and improved Avery, that's the one you want.

Worked for the whole class!

I used these for my students (3rd- 10th grade) to print a Photoshop design on tee shirts. They performed well for all of the students on tee shirts brought from home. Not all of the tee shirts were clean... not all of the students were good with ironing... but the tee shirts came out looking great. The tee shirt I made has small images on it from screenshots with text- images/text are crisp/clear despite small size.

As the instructions say: wash before wearing. The kids put theirs on right away but it felt too stiff to me. After washing, it is comfortable and still bright.

Notes: the iron we used was a heavy old iron with a fabric covered cord. I think this iron works better than the lighter weight modern sort. The instructions say to do 20 second passes across fabric, and that is perfect for kids, as they can count 1 hippopotamus, etc. Follow the instructions and be sure to load the paper in remembering which way your printer loads and prints paper. I used an unfamiliar printer where the paper needs to go in print-side down not up and printed the first one on the transfer backing by mistake.

Has its limits, but can be tweaked

It seems to me that what transfer paper tries to accomplish is pretty remarkable: a relatively easy way for people who do not have special equipment or skills to print their own images on fabric. In the past, transferring a design to fabric could be accomplished by silk screen (messy, complicated, and sometimes very expensive), by embroidery (needs a pretty well developed skill set and a *lot* of patience), by painting directly on the fabric with fabric paint (okay, how many of us are painters and able to create to our satisfaction the image of our pet or a favorite landscape as well as we can accomplish this digitally?), or by other more time consuming or skill-intensive means.

None of the methods mentioned are dummy-proof (I say this as a first rate crafts dummy, myself). In other words, the results are as likely to be disappointing as not. Unsurprisingly, for a number of reasons this is true of transfer paper, as well.

First, the image you see on your computer monitor is very likely not the image you'll be able to replicate exactly on fabric. There are several reasons for this. First, you might already notice that the colors in your photos don't print exactly as they appear on the monitor. If this is true, the calibration is off. Ways of addressing this differ, but put "color calibration" into a search engine.

Second, I get better results by making the image darker than for printing on photo or ordinary paper. I think this might be in part because...

Third, it has begun to seem doubtful that an ordinary iron can maintain temperatures hot enough to transfer the image fully, especially if the colors are supposed to be dark, deeply saturated, or bright. Although our iron can be set to very hot temperatures (ouch! ouch!), the iron is not in continuous contact with all of the image at once. Consequently, sometimes there is a little trouble with the image rippling and thus shifting a little. In the repeated passes that must be made with the iron, I suspect that the iron does not remain hot enough. Related to this, I think, is that the times proposed by the manufacturer for heating the transfer have not been long enough, sometimes by a factor of two or three.

So these are all reasons that one could say the product doesn't work well. Still, for me it represents an interesting way of printing my own design on fabric. Mostly, I haven't the patience or skills for other ways and for reliable results, I believe the better choice would be use the services of someone who has professional equipment and skill. But I really do enjoy experimenting, myself, to see what can be made.

For what the product is trying to do, it seems relatively inexpensive (though not cheap, by any means) to me. But the operative word really is "experimenting", because the results are by no means certain. I've knocked off a star because IMHO the manufacturer's blurb leads people to expect more than the product is at this point capable of delivering. It really is an experiment and I can't help feeling that folks would be less disgruntled if Avery were to dial back their description to one that is perhaps more realistic.

Terrific, but be careful during wireless setup

From time out of the box to time printing was about 15 minutes. It would have been 10 minutes except that I misunderstood one instruction during the wireless installation. A message comes up after entering your SSID network information that seems to suggest that all physical cables to the printer need to be disconnected at that time. Actually the USB must stay connected because information still needs to be sent to the printer by the USB cable. So wait until the message comes up that specifically states that the USB cable must now be disconnected, and it should all go well. I will also say that there is one window in which you type your network encryption key, but the entry box does not highlight as other boxes do. So that is confusing because it looks like this box will not accept any entry, but it does.

Because there is some ambiguity in the instructions, I'm taking off one star. I think the installation may not be easy for everyone to follow, but if you have installed other devices that use network encrytion, you will probably get it to all work on your first or second try.

The physical appearance of the printer is very nice. I like the ridged sides that let you pick it up and move it without feeling like it will slip out of your hands. All of the controls are on the top. I wish that there was a power led on the front panel so it can be seen from across the room.

The printer holds half of a ream. If using 8.5 x 11 paper, you have to lengthen the paper tray, which then sticks out of the back of the printer. It is not a significant amount, but do keep this in mind when you look at the dimensions of the printer itself. This is especially true if you are setting it up for legal size paper.

The printer comes with a USB cable, which is unusual these days, but a good thing to have immediately on hand. Good job Samsung! Also inside the box is a power cord and a cd with installation software. There is also a paper copy of the network installation manual and a general installation guide on one large sheet of paper. Also an unpacking and installation guide is printed on one of the inner flaps of the box.

The print quality is excellent and I'm happy with the speed of printing. I recommend this printer for homes and small offices.

Well, it Prints.

The Samsung ML-2955DW is a wireless black and white printer, with a duplex option.

The print quality is crisp and good.

I had problems duplex printing a thick paper, even when I had the printer set to thick paper. It had no problem when I used a standard thickness paper. I found it difficult to simply choose duplex from the print options. I had to set up Eco mode to do this which isn't intuitive, and required extra clicks to choose one option.

Setup was easy for me. I am not a network expert, but I have good familiarity with a home network. All I had to do though was plug printer into outlet, plug a USB cord from the printer to my computer, and run the install CD that included network setup. As long as you know the wireless access password, you should have no problems. There is an option to use for other computers to just install drivers once the printer is set up.

It also supports Wireless Protected Setup(WPS) but as this standard is implemented insecurely, I have it disabled on my router. I did not test it.

The printer has quick acting sleep mode. This will save you energy. It is adjustable.

At one point I clicked the User Guide button in the included software, and nothing happened. The button appears not to function at all.

There is an app I got from the Google Play store (also available on iTunes) that I should have been able to print from. It was actually easier to choose options than from my computer, but I wasn't able to get it to print.

In all, the printer prints great B/W prints, network setup was simple, but a few things in the UI aren't as good as they could be, and some of the features such as the app were disappointing. If they are improved over time, it will increase the quality of experience you will have with the printer. If the price is right, it is a good buy so long as the mentioned issues aren't show stoppers for you.

Good small office or home office printer

The installation of the printer was easy and completely trouble free. Printing was good at a decent speed and quality was very acceptable. Certainly very well suited for a small home office or as a personal printer at work. It would be overwhelmed as a shared printer for an office of more than 5. A big plus was the USB cable was supplied unlike another major brand as part of the product. The free "Samsung Mobile Print" App downloadable from Apple took quite a bit of figuring out to get working.

I have to point out that when the printer starts to print, the lights in my office flicker a bit. I'm not sure if that is due to EM interference or if there is a big current draw. It certainly has never occurred with my other older HP laser printers.

all in all, a good alternative to the lower cost Brothers and HPs.

Love the printer! Use it in my office everyday and it works very well. Prints quickly with no problems.

They are overfilled so your printer thinks the cartridge is empty. So you have to ignore the warning from the printer. A small inconvience for the big $ saved. Print quality is normal.

Great price on the ink...problem trying to use it.

product arrived in 2 days-wow! However problems started right away with the ink-black had lines and color printed too light, like
pastel. Also printer refused to recognize the cartridges. Changed out black cartridge thinking it might be faulty. No improvement.
Spoke with customer service and they could not have been nicer. They shipped a new order to me at no charge. Trying them
tonight for the 1st time. The problem may be with my temperamental Dell printer. They are serious about using only their ink.
Even if this ink is not up to Dell quality it has been a pleasure doing business with these folks.

Not worth it

These only work for a couple of days and then the printer gives you a low ink message. We hardly printed 10 pages, and started getting the low ink message. Sometimes we got the low ink message on installation...don't bother.

Why I do not attempt to store inkjet cartridges

The cartridge supplied with the HP Deskjet 932C doesn't hold much ink, so when I purchased the printer 3 months ago, I bought a 2-pack of 45A -- I hate to run out of ink. I just ran out of ink in the small cartridge, and sadly found that both 45A cartridges had completely dried out. I sure wasted a lot of color ink trying to decide what was wrong! I went back to Office Depot where I purchased the printer, and was advised that I don't use enough ink to warrant buying a 2-pack because they are almost sure to dry up before I would need them. So I bought a single... and voila, the printer is back to its normal wonderful self... Yes, the cartridges that dried out were still under warranty with both the store and HewlettPackard, so I have been reimbursed.

A great work horse! I've used 20-25 of these cartridges over the past few years, with consistently excellent results. The print is always clear, I seem to get over 500 text pages per cartrige, and unlike some earlier generation models it doesn't clog when the ink level runs low.

Refill Kit from Dataproducts works

I agree with some of the reviews that the cartridges don't last very long and are expensive. I tried a refill product from Dataproducts for both b&w (51629A)and color cartridges (51649A). Both work well. I didn't trust the cover for the color refill and used the old one by attaching it with tape. Works fine so far. Hope this helps.

NOT Clear

False advertising. These labels are NOT clear. Once applied, they have a slightly "frosted" appearance. These labels might work fine for some projects, but in my case I wasted money on these.
