Some Questions Some Answers for LC 75 compatible ink for Brother MFC-J825DW

I was very skeptical about buying these cartridges because of the bad reviews. Some said they were incompatible with the MFC-J825DW model. For $9.50, I thought it was at least worth a try. I waited until the black cartridge was completely out before replacing it. I ignored the low ink warnings.

Before inserting the first black ink cartridge, I removed the clear film over the round ink tank nozzle. It was very hard to get all the plastic off. I inserted the first cartridge numerous times and the printer wouldn't recognize it. I did NOT remove the plastic on the second cartridge, inserted it, and the printer immediately recognized it. Tested with a couple of pages and it printed fine.

Later on it started bugging me why one cartridge would work and the other wouldn't. I took the second cartridge out and compared it to the first. If you hold it up to the light you will see a small spring with a female type cup at the end of the spring. This must be aligned exactly with the male part on the printer when it slides in. I re-examined the first cartridge and the spring was off center. The second cartridge spring was exactly in the middle. If you hold your new cartridges up to the light you will notice some springs a little off center. I assume if you insert them slowly and twist just a little these will work fine.

I was very leery ordering this since I had just been very disappointed with a different order of budget ink.
The color is very good and fairly quick drying on photos. I have printed about 50 photographs without a single flaw.
I will reorder!

Still waiting for the catch!

Just received my ink cartridges and printed up a bunch of stuff...everything was really great quality! Not really sure why it was so cheap, but since I am currently writing a thesis and need to print stuff like crazy, four black ink cartridges for the price of not even one (plus 2 sets of color cartridges!) at Best Buy or any other retailer is probably the best deal I'll ever get. Love, love, love it!
